You want to start cooking but you don't know how. You know how to follow a basic recipe, but don't know how to plan a meal. You want to take advantage of the produce at your local farmers' market, but you don't know what to do with it once you get it home.
Welcome to Cooking without a Net. We're here to teach you everything you need to know, whether it's basic techniques, how to follow or adapt a recipe, or how to create your own recipes and be a competent, creative cook in your own kitchen.
We believe that you don't have to be a trained chef to be a great cook. Our grandmothers didn't have to go to school to learn how to cook. Like so many other things in life, the best way to learn something is to just do it, and keep on doing it until it becomes second nature.
What our grandmothers did have, that many of us here in the United States no longer have, was on-the-job training. They grew up cooking in the kitchen with their mothers, where they learned by watching and copying and trial and error what worked and what didn't.
Here at Cooking without a Net we've done a lot of that trial and error for you.
